Holy smokes!! Familia and Friends!!!
I have made it to week 2 and its been so unreal, I honestly have felt like I have been here for a life time. But the MTC has been so good to me. Not much has changed, I mean I am still in the MTC and still going to Portugal which is good BUT i can now say I am getting the hang of Portuguese a lot better. I have now memorized "My Purpose" in Portuguese and now heading onto the first vision so pray for me :)
I never thought I would be saying this so early into the MTC but I love it. I love it because of all the cool new people i'm meeting from all over the world that are going out and doing the Lord's work. When ever I am having a hard time I think of all the new people that just have come into the MTC and have no idea what the heck is going on haha. That makes me feel like i should be stepping up and really trying to learn as much as possible. Everyone is so humble and sweet, everyday I surrounded by a thousand people that love this gospel as much as I do. My favorite is that we all have this strong desire in our hearts. We are Pumpado (Pumped)- Fake word our teacher uses haha. but we are all so pumpado to go out in our areas around the world and share the light of Christ.
I was talking to the sisters in my district about how neat it is to wear this name tag. I am so beyond grateful to represent Christ's church. There's nothing i'd rather be doing right now than to be here.
Don't get me wrong I do have my tough days like from Mon-Sat its hard haha. But really its so awesome, and i have realized i can't do anything without my Savior. Like even yesterday we were learning conjugations and so help me I was going to rip my eyes out hahaha.
It's basically learning not to sound like an American in Portugal. And snap I was determined to get that stuff down! Okay I guess I should talk about my teachers! Aw man we have three teachers, In the morning for the first 4 hours is sister Lewis, then we have Brother Workmen and then there's Brother Lemperline, he teaches us for the last 4 hours. He is down right the best teacher I have ever had in my life. We play games in his class yet have the spirit at the same time its unreal. Oh we also have new investigators who we teach EVERYDAY. Aw man its way hard but so fun, its game time really. I have gotten good at planning lessons now i just have to falar Portuguese haha. I will keep you updates on that!
Now some highlights of the week/tender mercies.
Okay so I have been playing Volleyball like crazy in the MTC. I basically run in the Morning with Sister Dixon around 5:50 then in the late afternoon when we have gym I play volleyball with at least half our district. So as I was playing I am known to be pretty good at...sound effects haha. I try and hold back the trash talk but its so hard haha. I learned instead of trash talking I will just make funny comments and by that point I would be crying laughing or something. Its way funny. Anyways so its a joke to everyone when I am at the front net to set it to me because I am so short, but yesterday a miracle happened. Some Elder set it to me and it was like super slow mo, I looked at the net and Elder Reed being 6'2 or taller waiting to smack it down at me, I jumped as high as I could and I tipped it over his fingers and GOT THE POINT!!!!! and we were all jumping and laughing and now everyday In class I get to make fun of Elder Reed. But again its not supposed to be competitive so I am nice sometimes haha. Lets see what else?!?! Ah man I got a tender mercy by having Lindise Smith in my district...(my cousin in Peru) Her name is Sister Steagall and lemmie tell ya, they're identical I almost started crying because I was so happy.
Little shutouts for a million of my family members either already having their birthdays or having them this month. I know Sara's is coming up and the twins! I am still so mad I cant be there for the Twins baptism but I will be thinking of them. ALSO Madison (my sissy) IS TURING 16!!! What the heck. Aw man make sure to keep the boys away from her! Spoil her with your love and gifts! Also so many thanks to the Gifts and Muito Amor you'll have shown me. The support is what carries me :)
Thank so much!! Till next weeks adventures!
