Okay so I will start off with the best part of this week! We had a Conference in Lisboa and Elder Bednar came to talk to us! It was the best thing ever. It was super fun! We went with a bunch of members on a bus and we brought one investigator with us. We sang a bunch of hymns and had a good old time. After we all piled into this theater type place and there was around 2,000 ish people there. He and his wife talked about the church and how to strengthen the members and the missionary's. His wife talked about the importance of raising your children in the gospel because of the principles and teachings. And how important it is to raise them to be a missionary whether or not they serve a mission. I loved it a lot. After she spoke, Elder Bednar spoke directly to the non-member folks that came. He basically explained the first lesson (obviously 10000000x better than I do) and his testimony was just so powerful. Then he talked to us and he really directed it to us individually. He talked about how this is all the Lords work and we as well as Elder Bednar are just servants of the Lord. I walked away from that talk with amazement and wish and hope I will be able to bear testimony like he did to my investigators. So ya it was amazing to have that little uplifting Conference this week :)
Okay, so now super random things that happened this week...
We finally found Mexican food!!!!!!! So we had Mexican day and were living it up really.
Oh and this is my last week of my first transfer! That is really odd but I am guessing that I am going to be staying in Vila Franca, we shall see!
I love the people here though! There's a lady named C., she is way sweet and super old but when ever we go to her home he always says "hola meninas" and my fav thing she says is "Pois" or "I´m not right in the head". My goodness she`s my fav haha.
Oh then there`s C. who's from Angola but has lived here for about 30 years now. He is super awesome and he just loves praying with us. We were talking to him and he said he will make up cachupa which is basically all they eat in Angola so I cant wait for that!
We had a guy that really wanted to chat with us but he was insanely drunk and tried to speak English with us but we just spoke straight Portuguese and he got really upset haha. We left him with a card and told him to call us back when he wasn't super drunk.
Snap I also got to have dinner at Rosa's house this week and she made this curry dish which is out of this world good, then made lemon chicken and I was in heaven.
So this week we also did the impossible and met all of our weekly goals and mission goals! The ward here is really small in Vila Franca and its really a struggle for them at times, but they are strong in faith. But this past week we had a ton of less actives come back and investigators. Members have finally come with us to teach other lessons and I can really see this ward growing like crazy.
I am also doing okay with Portuguese :) Its still crazy hard sometimes but I am understand people poco-a-poca. I am doing a lot better at street contacts and I am starting to read the Book of Mormon is Portuguese! Of course with English version right by my side, but I think it will really help with the language.
Okay and today! We went to Sintra which is a little past Lisboa. We explored all the castles and went in these really sweet caves! ill make sure to send tons of pics! It was soooo pretty. Oh and on the way back I finally got my Asian food as well so I am just way happy right now.
Welp that was my great week! I hope you all had a good one as well :) Love you all
