Wow what an amazing Easter Weekend!
I hope all of you had a great week as well, so I guess i will just tell you how it all kinda went down. We don't have a TV of anything in our área all we have is a tiny little computer and the Internet was a bust so we have to go all the way to an área called Alverca. Its a 10 min train ride and a 30 min bus ride. But lucky enough for us the train this week was on a strike so we got to take the bus! But even harder for us to bring investigator's, no one wanted to pay for the bus and ya so it was sad. But on sat. afternoon one of our investigator's rode his bike! We also marked him for baptism so it was just neat that he came and of course he loved it. Sad part was is that I had to watch a small bit of conference in Português. It was cool but probs better when I could fully understand it haha.
Anyways good thing is that I got to watch the other sessions in English and I was in love. I have never been more awake in a General Conference before haha. Just kinda, but really all the speakers bore testimony with such power and it was amazing.
In-between the session, this really nice member Lopes brought a meal! And guess what is was...Bacalhau! The beautiful fish dish, and to be honest is actually it was good! (just having to get use to the new tastes here) He cooks really well, so I really appreciate the food and the thoughtfulness. The dish is kinda like a casserole with Nata~cream type thing and then tons of fish and salt. Juice goes well with it.
After we got home around 9 ish and stopped by a couple member home then came home and had a wonderful Easter dinner...Cereal :) It definitely made me miss home for sure and have that dang good family dinner! But that day I got to remember the family a bunch and how grateful I am to have you guys for eternity! Miss ya!
This week the Lords work was prime, we had about 14 new people we found throughout the week and we met with tons of not active members that have been taking the lessons again. Investigators family members have been coming into the lessons and soaking the gospel right up. This week has been filled with miracles. I have seen the Lords hands in these peoples lives for sure and they are now seeing it too. This area is tough because Sister Wood and I are the only ones in it! We cover about 3 cites so that means tons of people to see and teach. But since we didn't have the train this week we did something we never thought we would do...this week we walked to the other cites 3 times back and forth, at least the view is pretty and its a great place to contact people! But ya its about 3ish miles each way which doesn't seem like a lot until you get to the 3rd day...
We would have to leave around 4 here walk and leave there around 8 to get home on time. Sadly sometimes when we walked so far people would cancel and we would be left contacting like crazy. It was way fun haha.
But the time we would walk home our feet would hurt so much so we would take off our shoes and look at each other and just laugh. Every time we would walk that far and sometimes not get any success we would say...Worth it.
Right now the language is kinda like laughing at a joke after everyone already laughed. haha. Sad but soo true. I am understanding people tons better but speaking is the hardest part. I just have to start out with the simple things to get better. I am loving Portugal more and more everyday though.
Anyways, Love you all and Happy Pascoa!!!!
