Allrighty, well today is transfer day and its just been a crazy day so sorry if this letter is all over the place.
I didn't get transferred out of my area but sister wood did :( She is now in the Porto mission being a STL. I am super stoked for her but I will miss her like its crazy. Mas, my new comp is Sister Lacey! She is from Apple Valley, Ca and this is her 7th transfer. Don't know much about her yet but i will soon! ( I know she loves to run though..so LUCKY MEEEEE!!!) :)
This week has also been really really slow and really really hard. It has been rainy and cold and it was a holiday on Saturday. (kinda like independence day) When its a week like that, its like no mans land. (It's also just hard to serve because you don't know where you are needed and what people need) Also every person we went to go visit with wasn't home. Its was super lame. But, we did see little tender mercies here and there. ( the Lord is good) We made contact with some less active families that really needed help, so now we are meeting with them! Sometimes, you can just get off track and its nice to be reminded of why you loved the Lord's gospel in the first place and had once had a strong testimony. This is a good lesson for me, when I am feeling down or overwhelmed to not stray away from the gospel, but to keep living my truth and keeping the commandments daily. When we feel our most weak or most lonely, it is when we need the Lord and His Gospel even more. We ran into people we haven't seen for a while and got to have lessons with them too. Our investigator B. stopped smoking and is preparing for Baptism and so I count that has huge success in his life. (okay...that doesn't look like a slow week to me, but I am just a mom) lol
Everyday seemed really long and on Tuesday I got a pretty bad stomach flu. The next day sister Wood got it, then the next day we flipping wanted to throw up and couldn't move. As sister wood would say "it was the pits" so thats also why it wasn't the greatest of weeks. Hey, we survived and still went out and tried our best haha. I honestly cant even remember what else went on this week...all our minds could focus on was transfer day and trying to stop by all the members homes and what not. (they like to say goodbye when one of them might be leaving...they just love their people there.)
I will for reals miss Sister Wood like no other, but I'm stoked about Sister Lacey this transfer. Oh yeah, I'm also super stressed because I am kinda telling her ALL about this area which is super freaky haha. I kinda just realized I'm responsible for all that. I am super happy, I am really aware of where I was, what busses to take and all that jazz. First day is weird but I am good. Now that just means I have to really remember everyones names and everything about them. Yes! haha give me more stress! Loving it really.
Yikes well the work is going strong and even though I am dead tired everyday I am loving it! Also congrats to all the mission calls this week for Jackson and Bennett Sheppard and for Bekah Chamberlain heading off! Can't wait to hear about all of you :) Thanks for the love and support every week! I really do appreciate your letters of encouragement, news back home and most importantly you just remembering me out here in the mission field.
xoxo,
