Well Ola everyone!!!!!!!!
Sorry for not writing a letter last week i was a tad short on time! But this week there are some good things to talk about!
First of all, our transfers got extended so i am still in the same city with sister Hillam and transfers are going to be this up coming week. i think i am staying so thats all good.
I have felt like this has been such a pretty frustrating week! When everything is usually going up, things usually tend to right back down haha. And that was basically our week in a nut shell. I will call it the week of Exams. The moral of the frustration has just been with our investigators that want to be baptized. This whole week we haven't been able to see them, they have gone out of town all of a sudden or they moved houses. Also the woman that i talked about 2 weeks ago just feels the gospel isn't for her right now... things couldn't have gone worse. But really, in the moment we were frustrated because we have really done everything in our power to see these people to talk the problems out, but really it was now out of our hands and we felt it. With this we felt stranded but kept pressing forward. We knew Satan was using all of his power on them, giving them doubts and hesitation, because he couldn't get to us.
We have been contacting about 55ish people everyday and none of them wanted to talk to us again...But really we kept our heads high and moved on. Today i was stoked because i could have a bit of fresh air from the frustration of the week and relax a little when i read this talk that helped so much. It talked about missionary work. It's really impossible for us to fail when we do our best when we are on the Lords errand. While the outcome is a result and the exercise of ones agency, sharing the gospel is our responsibility. Every time we take someones hand, hand out a card, say a word or two, give some service and introduce them the Jesus Christ you will feel how deeply our Savior loves you and that person whos hands are in ours. So even though this week didnt end they way "I" wanted it, it doesn't matter. I am on the Lords errand and i know that he has a plan for His children. He promises that when we do OUR part he will do HIS. So i do look at this week differently, for me i was satisfied with our work, we shared what was in our hearts and loved the people!
Now some of the funny things during the week that i can remember... one day we were stoked to teach this elderly investigator, on our way there we got stopped by this woman and she said she would drive us to this address (holla). So we show up to this apartment and as we walk in there are so many women its crazy! We come to find out that is it a huge Bible study group of the Evangelists and there was no turning back. They all yelled there sayings or welcomes and we were happy to stay haha. They are very loud and they love singing and dancing to Jesus music. ( I laughed out lout when I read that) They were very welcoming and they loved having us there. We played telephone in portuguese (we were the one to ruin it haha) and at the end we got to share a small message with everyone there, it was pretty neat! We are all Gods children and what a sweet spirit can be felt with those that want to be close to Him.
Every night it seems like we run into an interesting person ...there was this guy from Belgium and i think he was a tad drunk, but he was bowing down to us and giving us some strategy to missionary work to "hunt" down some more people faster. ha ha ha
Okay now for the most interesting thing i ate this week... the whole family will be happy, I ate a dish that is called "Arroz de Marisco" basically sea food rice :) Ya you name it from the sea it was in there!!!! Yummy, i actually really didnt mind it or i just really told myself that haha. But we had a good dessert so i was okay :)
Anyways thats all that kinda went on this week! Love everyone like crazy!
